HELO,
Please tell whether is there any maximum limit on late fee calculation in GST.
Some of my GSTR are pending to be filed since last year. Somewhere i read that there is max 5000 late fee, but system is auto calculating more then 5000 rupees for one GSTR.
Kindly help someone pls and share notification if its available.

Section 47 of GST Act 2017 - Any registered person who fails to furnish the details of outward or inward supplies required under section 37 or section 38 or returns required under section 39 or section 45 by the due date shall pay a late fee of one hundred rupees for every day during which such failure continues subject to a maximum amount of five thousand rupees

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (“CBIC”) has issued a Notification No. 41/2018 – Central Tax dated September 04, 2018, which waives-off the late fees for the following taxpayers. The gist of the aforesaid notification is as under for the ease of understanding:
Taxpayers who have submitted their GSTR-3B but not able to file their return on GST portal, after generation of the application reference number for the month of October 2017.

please tell me particularly about gstr3b, its pending since last year, and if late fee max is 5000 why gst portal is calculating above 5000 inr.
Is there any solution to this.

Its total Rs 10000/- ( Rs 5000/- CGST & Rs 5000/- IGST )
