07 July 2024 Yes, you can claim input tax credit (ITC) for the invoices of April 2022 that were not uploaded on time, provided you meet the conditions specified under the GST laws. Here’s what you should do:

1. **Upload the Invoices**: Ensure that you upload the missing purchase invoices for April 2022 in your GST portal as soon as possible. You should also ensure that all relevant details are correctly entered, including the GSTIN of the supplier, invoice number, date, taxable value, and GST charged.

2. **Claiming ITC**: Once the invoices are uploaded, you can claim the ITC in your GSTR-3B return for the tax period in which you upload these invoices. Typically, this would be the return filed for April 2023, assuming you are uploading them before filing your return for that period.

3. **Conditions to Claim ITC**: To claim ITC, ensure that:
- The suppliers have uploaded these invoices in their GSTR-1 or GSTR-5 (for non-resident suppliers).
- You have paid the suppliers for these invoices within 180 days from the date of invoice.
- These invoices are uploaded by the due date of filing the return for the month of September following the end of the financial year to which such invoice pertains or filing of annual return, whichever is earlier.

4. **Interest or Penalty**: Since the invoices are being uploaded after the due date of September 2022, you may be liable to pay interest on the tax amount due for the period of delay. The interest rate is generally 18% per annum, calculated on a daily basis.

5. **Consult with a Tax Professional**: Given the urgency and potential implications, it's advisable to consult with a tax professional or GST expert who can guide you through the specific steps and ensure compliance with GST regulations.

By following these steps and ensuring timely compliance, you can claim the ITC for the invoices of April 2022 in your upcoming GST returns effectively.
