10 July 2017 How can a buyer come to know that the seller is selling the goods under Composition Scheme ? (1) Is it because of nil tax on the invoice ? or(2) reference of composition scheme is mentioned on the invoice ? pls clarify

10 July 2017 Composition dealers cannot issue tax invoice rather they have to issue bill of supply because if any dealers purchases from composition dealer is not eligible for claiming input tax credit and bill of supply having GST number to be issued instead of tax invoice.

10 July 2017 But we are receiving invoices from a departmental store for supplying provision items and they are furnishing bill having title " Invoice" and saying that we are under composition scheme though they are not charging any kind of taxes. Is it right approach on his part ?

10 July 2017 No, dealer under composition scheme cannot issue tax invoice and it is not like that composition dealer will not charge taxes he also has to charge tax but at much lower rate for that he has to issue bill of supply.
