Is Gratuity Received by Government Employee During Service is Taxable?

As I know Govt employees are given gratuity only on or after retirement.
Section 10(10) exempts only death cum retirement gratuity.

Any sum of Gratuity is received by the Govt. Employee is fully exempt u/s 10(10).
