06 January 2020 I received Gratuity from my previous company at the time of my resignation, in April 2019. I joined a new company which does not have gratuity provisions. Under Section 10(10) i there is an exemption of 20L on gratuity receipt. Is this applicable during job changes also? Or Is the amount taxable at my hand? Please clarify.
