28 May 2013 All good manufactured which are liable to duty would be required to suffer duty unless exempted [ some exemption for defense/ research have been provided]
Why - You need to ask the CBEC top officers or FM that question. Tax does not always follow logic. Maybe to do with reaching stiff targets of revenue and fudging of books by Govt.
