what is the impact if some one didnt participate in gmcs in the first year of article ship?

There is not specified consequences defined by ICAI,
But its better to do it within the time prescribed by ICAI..
however, it may impact on your articleship period or ICAI may extend its period...

Generally consequences for not completing GMCS in time has not specified by Institute. So we can not says there on.
