Form 26as and form 16

After getting form 16 from the company for the year 2011-2012, i checked the TIN webite.The tax paid is not reflecting on the TIN Website.Is it mandatory that the tax paid details as on form 16 should also reflect online??If so, whom should i contact?Can anyone please help me in this regard?

If the amount deducted is not appearing in form 26AS then you should contact the deductor for correction.

The employer is the best person to solve this issue either by filing the tds return or to correct the tds return if already filed.

i dont have a proper certificate number on my form 16.
- How to confirm the form 16 is a valid one or not
- how to confirm the tax deducted from me has been paid to the government or not?

In the form 16 ,which is with you, if the three columns under the head "Summary of tax deducted at source" is filled in ,it can be presumed that income tax has been deducted from your salary and deposited to government. If it is so, then mismatch in TIN web site can be presumed as mistake in TDS return filing for which correction is required from the end of the employer as I said earlier.
