My salary is just 8000 pm can i file my return or receive form 16

11 October 2011 One can file an IT Return if his/her income is zero through electronic mode. U can do that surely and it will show you that NIL tax is payable by you as per the latest Tax slabs.

11 October 2011 It does not require to file the returns; since your income is less than the taxable limit.

Moreover, now assesse need not file returns upto 5 lacs to whom the tds deducted and paid by the employer..

Why u would like to increase the work of the department..; unless it is specifically needed for any purpose..

My advice is to file return even he do not eligible for pay tax..

The reason behind this.. is that it will give the needed data to our government for making statistics for executing plans & policy for the future.

Secondly, it will strengthen his personal file and will benefit him in case of taking personal lonas, etc.
