Foreign investment by an indian individual

27 October 2015 can a person resident in India make investment in a company incorporate outside India as promoter contribution as per fema?please specify if any other law or rule is applicable.

04 November 2015 Yes. you can. but ensure that the overseas investment is not more than 400% of networth or USD 1 Billion whichever is less. If investment either breaches 1 Billion USD or 400% of networth as per latest balance sheet, RBI approval is required
