07 June 2013 want to start a business (sole proprietorship) and i want to run my office from the place which will be on the rent. I want to provide various services like advertising & promotion, event & wedding management,and party event, placement consultancy and small land construction under that. I want to know that is there any kind of a registration or some legal formalities necessary for it and plz guide me that does any service taxas and vat liability are applied for it which i have to pay.
please reply me as soon as possible..

07 June 2013 As you are involved mostly in service activity a VAT registration is not necessary.If sale of some material is included then(like making neon sign,glow lights or giving furniture,generators on lease etc)a registration may be required,for carrying the goods via checkposts interstate purchases....mjk
