08 June 2010 In case fixed asset carrying small WDV value is written off during the year whether depreciation can be provided upto the date of writing off under the companies act,1956.

08 June 2010 There is no point of Depreciation, since Depreciation will be given on WDV which is nil.
Also, supose if you have not yet written off the WDV value, then Depreciation will amount to the WDV and the write off amount will be the balance amount after the Depeciation.
So in both case, the total amount charged to P&L is same.
