06 August 2014 one technical question.... if the notice/intimation under 143(1) asks the assessee to pay INR 40 ( less than 100).. is there any provision to allow to ignore making this payment for administrative convenience....

as per Department of Revenue instructions, for demand for less than Rs 100, no notice of demand is issued. Any such sundry demand is to be adjusted against future tax refunds.
