Filling of service tax return for oct 11 to mar 12

21 April 2012 Respected Expert,
we r raising invoice of 5 lac plus service tax in mar 12,and now the due date of filling half realy service tax reutrn before 25th april 2012. as per new rule payment of service tax is must before filling return OR we can submitt return without payment...

please suggest me. we r awaiting for ur valuable reply

22 April 2012 you have to pay service tax and submit return.

22 April 2012 for last year you have to account for on the basis of accrual and if your turnover is above 50 lakhs then only you have to pay the advance tax. Since you have not mentioned full details it is the payment first and then the return.

22 April 2012 thank you,

but right now i dont have sufficient money to pay service tax, should i filled return showing payable to avoid penalty action against non filling of returns on time. when i get the money from client i will pay the liability with interest amount.
