25 March 2009 DIN is mandatory even though the director is expired. For taking DIN of expired director you may send an e-mail to https://www.mca.gov.in/DCAPortalWeb/dca/MyMCALogin.do?method=setDefaultProperty&mode=23 stating the facts. They will let you know the procedure to take DIN in the cited situation.
