17 October 2013 Can we file service tax return for FY 2013-14 if we have not filed return for the period 2012-13.

17 October 2013 Yes. You can file the return for April 13 to Sept 13 period. Due date is 25th Oct 2013.

It is not necessary for filing current year return, previous period return needs to be filed.
