A client has TDS for the AY 2015-16.Can a return can be filed now(11.01.2018) for AY 2015-16?

Normal return to be filled .
Only you have to choose return filling code 139(4) i.e Return after due date

I tried to file the return of AY 2015-16 through uploading XML and also through prepare and submit online,but it is showing that "The end date for filing this ITR is over".What to do ?
