FD SECURITY DEPOSIT REDEMPTION.

27 December 2024 Hi
I had a firm back is VAT days which has closed. I had deposited 25k FD with bank as security. The firm has closed and unfortunately I have LOST bond. All i have is copy of FD bond.
Bond has matured and reflecting as earning in my Income tax.
Can i redeem it. I visited bank but they are asking me letter from tax department for redemption.
Pls guide me how to get this money back.

29 December 2024 Contact your jurisdictional tax officer (now under GST regime), and request him to issue NO Lien Certificate for the security deposit lying with them. Most probably the original certificate would be with the officer. Once you get the certificate bank will redeem the amount.
