If you received an exemption in a subject for your CA Final exam in November 2015 but it does not show up on the ICAI website for the May 2016 exam, there could be a few reasons for this:
1. **Non-Application for May 2016 Exam**: If you did not apply or register for the May 2016 exam, the exemption data for that exam session would not be applicable to you. Exemption data typically appears on the ICAI website for exam sessions where you are registered and eligible to appear.
2. **Exemption Not Carried Forward**: Exemptions are generally carried forward automatically to subsequent exam sessions if you apply for those sessions. If you did not apply for the May 2016 exam, the exemption from November 2015 might not show up for that session.
3. **Discrepancy or Technical Issue**: There could be a possibility of a technical issue or discrepancy on the website. However, this is less likely if the only reason is non-application for the exam.
To resolve this and confirm the exact reason, you can take the following steps:
- **Check Registration Status**: Ensure that you are registered for the May 2016 exam session on the ICAI website. If you are not registered, exemptions won't appear for that session.
- **Contact ICAI**: If you believe there might be a technical issue or if you want clarification, you can contact ICAI directly. They will be able to provide you with accurate information regarding your exemption status and any potential discrepancies.
- **Review Your Application and Records**: Double-check your own records to confirm whether you applied for the May 2016 exam. If you did not apply, the absence of exemption data is likely due to non-registration.
In summary, the absence of exemption data for the May 2016 exam on the ICAI website is probably because you did not apply or register for that exam session. To see your exemptions listed, you typically need to be registered for the relevant exam session where the exemptions are applicable.
