Excise on canned Software

10 February 2011 I have seen the excise rate on canned softwares @10% somewhere in book of V.S. Datey, however the basic excise duty on other products is 8%
My query is to confirm whether the rate is 10% or 8% please confirm .

Notification No. 30/2010- Central Excise (N. T) dated December 21, 2010 has been issued for levy of excise duty on packaged or canned software on Retail Sale Price basis.
