Excise duty is leviable for the manufactured products.
Excise duty is leviable for the goods which are mentioned in the Excise Tariff Act,

for further info.. follow the link.. www.cbec.gov.in
in this link you can get a top dwon menu excise , click it .. check in tariff act.. search for the items you are manufacturing..if it is included, then your product is hit by excise duty.
