18 March 2014 Sir Can Any one Help me to Know How to Claim the Excise Duty Amount We Are Buying the roofing Coil From Delhi.... May i Know The Procedure For That please Help Out in This It will be A Great Honour From Your Side to Me Awaiting For Your Reply

18 March 2014 Dear Anju ji,

As per your query, you are purchasing roofing coils. Please specify whether you are manufacturer and also specify where to use these coils i.e. in plant civil work.
In central excise, there is a concept of CENVAT Credit which an manufacturer claims on inputs, Capital goods and Input services and utilize the same towards his liability of excise duty on sale of goods.
You are therefore requested to please specify your exact nature of business so as to understand the thing on which better assessment can be done.

18 March 2014 sir we do the self supported roofing project
and we are a manufacturer we have not done excise registration because we don't have the factory so please let me know sir what i have to do next

21 March 2014 As per your statement, you are only taking the projects for roofing in which you use roofing coils. You have not taken the excise registration. Have you registered under service tax ? As per my view, your work falls under the category of works contract because you are providing service along with material, therefore need to be registered under service tax. If not obtained, Please plan accordingly for obtaining service tax registration.
