16 April 2008 Dear Sir,

if i have deposited excess Service tax amount
in march-08(F.y 07-08).

can i adjust excess amount with april-08(F.y 08-09)

The recent union budget has clarified the position that such amount paid in excess can be adjusted, also there is a provision in the half yearly returs ST3 for such adjustments carried out,

So its official , nothing to worry.

19 April 2008 if i have deposited excess service tax amount in march-08 (F.y 2007-08) can i adjust this excess amount in april-08 (F.y 2008-09)at time of depositing monthly service tax and financial year has closed.
