Excess amount deposit in 234E

04 May 2020 I have deposited excess amount of rs.346000 in 234E while paying TDs of under the head 94J,can it will be adjust in another head like 94C,94I in basic tax of tds or any option.please guide

05 May 2020 Due to some clerical error while making the payment of TDS the payment of Rs.346613 u/s 234E was made unnecessarily. Actually there was no liability u/s 234E. can I recover such amount from Income Tax Deptt. & how? Details of Payment are as under : **PAYABLE** Basic Tax Rs. 338986 Interest Rs. 7627 Other Rs. 0 Fee under Sec 234E Rs. 0 Total Amount Rs. 346613 **Actually Paid** Basic Tax Rs. 338986 Interest Rs. 7627 Fee under Sec 234E Rs. 346613 Total Amount Rs. 693226.

05 May 2020 At the time of filing TDS adjust the excess by furnishing challan No. In next TDS return till it's exhausted.

05 May 2020 Section mentioned in the challan will not be relevant while filling the return.
