13 August 2009 while preparing balance sheet in excel sheet i want to use a cell to show difference between total asset & total liabilities viz if any diff. is occured only then display as "Difference" in red filled colour , otherwise not

please let me know how should i do the same as i have seen it in a CA office

13 August 2009 IF you are using the Microsoft Office than you can use the condional formula in the tools option.

14 August 2009 let cell A1 is total of asset and B1 is total of liabiliies
=if(or(a1-b1>0,a-b1<0),a1-b1," ")
font color can be selected whatever you wish from "cell format" option.
