13 September 2013 Hello sir.
I have seen entry in my form 26AS part c, which shows I have paid taxes under major head and minor head .It is difficult for me to understand for which transaction I might have been taxed.I do not see any such transaction entered into by me.Can anyone help me in identifying? If I was not liable to pay tax, then I would like to file refund claim.
Please, help me in this regard.

Part C refers to Self assessment/advance tax/ tax on assessment.

(100)ADVANCE TAX
(102)SURTAX
(300)SELF ASSESSMENT TAX
(106)TAX ON DISTRIBUTED PROFITS
(400)TAX ON REGULAR ASSESSMENT
(107)TAX ON DISTRIBUTED INCOME

Whether you are liable to pay tax or not shall depend on computation of taxable income and tax payable thereon.

While filing your return please claim the taxes paid as shown in the form 26AS. If any tax is computed as refundable then would be refunded to u.
