Quick Summary

This discussion clarifies the number of Accounting Standards (AS) issued by the ICAI. While 32 AS have been released, several, including AS-6, AS-8, AS-30, AS-31, and AS-32, have been withdrawn. As of February 1st, 2022, there are effectively 27 mandatory Accounting Standards applicable from July 1st, 2017, onwards.

07 March 2022 So far a total of 32 Accounting Standards (AS-1 to AS-32) have been issued by the ICAI, out of which AS-1 to AS-29 are mandatory in nature whereas AS-6, AS-8, AS-30, AS-31 and AS-32 have been withdrawn by ICAI through different Announcements. Therefore now effectively there are only 27 Accounting Standards of ICAI as of 01/02/2022. All these accounting standards are mandatory in nature, as of 01/07/2017 and onwards:
