after registering my pan of Income tax site i have forget the password and Registered email id too. i have never filed any I.T Return. even i forget the seceret question answerd at the time of registration at income tax site.
so what can i do to reset my password. ??

i heared about the validate email id of income tax. but the password will be sent to the id which i have forget...
So please suggest how to reset the password in these conditions....??????

21 July 2024 If you have forgotten your password and registered email ID on the Income Tax e-filing portal and cannot recall the secret question answer, you can still reset your password. Hereโ€™s what you can do:

### Steps to Reset Password on Income Tax e-filing Portal:

1. **Using Aadhaar OTP (One-Time Password):**
- Visit the Income Tax e-filing portal: https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/.
- Click on the "Login Here" button.
- On the login page, click on "Forgot Password?" option.
- You will be prompted to enter your PAN, followed by Captcha. Click on "Continue".
- On the next screen, you will see options for resetting your password. One of the options is "Using Aadhaar OTP".
- If your Aadhaar is linked to your PAN and your mobile number is updated in Aadhaar, you can choose this option.
- Follow the instructions to receive an OTP on your Aadhaar registered mobile number, which you can use to reset your password.

2. **Resetting Through Bank Account Details:**
- Alternatively, you can choose the option "Using Net Banking login credentials" if your PAN is linked to your bank account.
- Select your bank from the list of provided banks and click on "Login".
- Follow the instructions to log in using your net banking credentials and reset your password.

3. **Contacting Income Tax Department:**
- If the above methods are not feasible (for instance, if Aadhaar is not linked or bank details are not updated), you can contact the Income Tax Department's helpdesk.
- Provide them with your PAN details and explain the situation. They may ask for identification proof to verify your identity.
- Once verified, they can help you reset your password manually.

4. **Updating Email ID:**
- If you still have access to your registered email ID but forgot the password, you can try to recover your email account first.
- Once you regain access to your email account, you can proceed to reset your Income Tax e-filing portal password using the methods mentioned above.

### Important Points to Note:
- **Ensure Aadhaar/Bank Account Linking**: Make sure your PAN is linked to Aadhaar or your bank account for smoother password reset options.
- **Verification**: The Income Tax Department may require identity verification documents to reset your password.
