Due date of TDS deducted on 31st March09

Wishes for the day !
I am Vijay Mishra, working with Minar Travels. Sir i want to know that , if we deduct the TDS on 31.03.09, then we can deposit the same on any day in May or on 31st May only? Please clarify me.As far as i cincirn we know that we should deposit it on 31st May only.

29 May 2009 Dear Vijay, you can deposit it even on 31st March itself. The time limit given of 31st May is the maximum time limit by which the tax must have been deposited to avoid penal provisions. You can deposit the TDS on any day upto 31st May.
