13 August 2013 If i'm paying my service tax liability through cheque dated 5-7-2012 for the month of June. It is cleared after 2 or 3 days.
then what is the date of payment of ST, either 5-7-2012 or 7-7-2012 ?

13 August 2013 If you have tender cheque on 5th, then the payment date is treated as 5th subject to realization of cheque.

However, Service Tax is to be paid online and every offline payment will attracts a penalty of 5000.
