1.Please discuss the order of subjects that a student who has just entered CA Final ( New course) should follow for a sound preparation.
2.It is normally advised that taking coaching for all 8 subjects would be futile. Pls suggest which subjects a student of IPCC level can opt for self study & for which coaching should be taken??

Self study is the best if you have the calibre and there is no replacement to it.
The order of taking tutions can be the following.
Direct Tax
MAFA
Costing
Indirect Tax
Accountancy
Law
Audit
MICS

the order of taking tutions or self study depends on the attempt.
if your attempt is more than 1 year from now, then don't go for direct tax and indirect tax now.
you can start with tutions of 1st group.. mainly concentrate on mafa.
then in case of mics, u can opt for self study. daily you can study one sa's and an acctng stnds, if opting for self study.
order of taking tutions should be
accounts
mafa
law
costing
mics
audit

The order as given by me above, is based on the weightage of the subject for which you will require coaching (in general). According to me, you will need tution for Diect tax, MAFA, Costing, IDT and Accountancy.

While you may not take tution and do self study for Law, Audit and MICS (if you dont have time for coaching).
