20 August 2013 i want to know that for which attempt students the new companies bill will going to be apllicable , as my exams are in nov. 2014 so have doubt about whether to study the subjects or not.

20 August 2013 As ICAI already clearified that it will not be applicable for may 14 and for nov 14 it has not commented anything have said that as and when it is made applicable then icai will decide and notify from which exam it will be applicable.

Important Announcement
Attention: Intermediate (IPC) and Final Course students

Non-applicability of Companies Bill, 2012 (to be enacted as the Companies Act, 2013) for May 2014, Examinations

This is to bring to the notice of students that the Companies Bill, 2012 (to be enacted as the Companies Act, 2013) which was passed by the Lok Sabha on 18th December, 2012 and was pending before the Rajya Sabha, has been finally passed on 8th of August, 2013. This Companies Bill will be enacted as the Companies Act, 2013 on receiving the assent of the President of India and notification in the Official Gazette, which will replace the existing statute, the Companies Act, 1956.

Based on the above, it is hereby clarified that the proposed Companies Act, 2013 will not be applicable for the Intermediate (IPC) and Final Examinations to be held in May 2014.

Regarding the applicability for November 2014 Examination, the decision will be taken based on the exact date of enactment of the above Companies Bill into the Act.

I also want to ask that but the above notification it is not clear for the nov, 2014 exams as the decision would depends upon future date, so i want to know that whether to start studying it now or should wait ?

20 August 2013 no it will better to wait till 30.4.2014 as after that if it is passed then it will not be made applicable for nov 14 exam.
So study FR, FM,COSTING.

20 August 2013 not at all it will make diffrence in your thinking only once you are CA and knowledgewise you cant compare with CA including the vide exp gained.

i want to ask that is it there notification by icai that by having ca degree one is exempt for doing post graduation ?
