Hi CaClub expert !!
I received intimation u/s 143(1) viz demand for excess tax of Rs. 695.
I have made the payment online and received the challan Report (Challan No. ITNS 280) - proof of payment
Do I need to post to proof of payment to the IT dept?
If so, what address?
Do you recommend sending by Regd A.D. ?

No need to send the proof of payment of demand. As they will get the information as soon as the payment is made. But keep the challan in record for future reference.

yes agreed, Dept. will know itself about your payment. no need to send them receipt of payment.
