15 October 2008 You can not adjust it against IT liability. You have to write to the department only.

15 October 2008 Section 115O does not contain a provision to solve the issue. As Mr.Srinivasaraghavan has rightly directed you may move a petition before the Chief Commissioner of income tax through your jurisdictional ITO.
