Directorship for a central government employee

I have a query regarding Directorship,

Can a existing central govt employee become a director in a private limited company? if not, can any of you explain me in detail with relevant section specifying regarding this ?


Do the needful at the earliest.

09 November 2011 There is no section in company law regarding this.

However as per my understanding there is no restriction in law ona govt. employee.
He can be a director of a company. However I would advise you to go through the terms of appointment as govt. employee. Bcoz Govt may place restriction through terms of appointment letter.
