What is the maximum and minimum amount of remunaration payable to a director as per Companies Act ?

Disagree with Manoj.
For a private company there is no limit regarding Managerial remuneration.
But a public company is governed by strict Managerial remuneration provisions.
Read Section 198, 309, 310 and 311 read with Schedule XIII of the companies act, 1956.
