15 October 2009 My Question is

1. what is the maximum no of companies (pvt.ltd. & public ltd.) a person can become whole time director / MD.

2. can person be the whole time Director in one or more co. and simultaneously CFO for other cos.

3. what should be the relation between 2 or more cos. to become a group of cos.

15 October 2009 The companies act,1956 does not define a 'whole time director. However, explanation to section 269 states that the expression 'whole time director' includes a director in the whole time employment of the company. By virtue of the whole time employment, a whole time director cannot act as such in more than one company.
