I am having my final exam in May'15. I had AY:14-15 Direct tax book which is relevent to May and Nov'14 exams. Shall i start study now (self study, not going for classes)or shall i wait for the relevant book ( AY:15-16)?

U can start from now. And do Tax on daily basis. Coz u can't catch it before 2 or 3 months. So my suggestion is to start from now(today) only.
For Amendments u can update it from the institutes release before 2 to 3 months of exam.
