19 August 2010 Every director or proposed director of a company has to obtain director identification number (DIN) from Ministry of corporate Affairs. DIN-1 is the application form. After approval of the DIN by the authority referred above, the Director has to inform the DIN to the company for which form DIN-2 should be used. Upon receipt of DIN-2 , the company in turn, has to file form DIN-3 to the registrar of companies, if the appointment of the director has taken place before 01/7/2007.
