17 August 2009 Dear Experts,
For applying DIN for NRI,
1)Which document to be submitted for proof of permanent address and present address?Indian address or foreign address?
2)Who has to certify this? whether foreign authority or indian authority?
3)What is home country mentioned in din general instructions? Certificatin from home country authority is applicable only for foreign national or for NRI also?

18 August 2009 Hi,

For DIN of NRI:-

In case of foreign national, certified copy of valid passport should be enclosed with DIN-1. If attestation has been done on id proof and address for foreign national by public notary/gazette officer in india or practicing CA/CS/CWA an attested copy of multiple entry VISA also should be attached. Other procedures remains same.
