Quick Summary
When filing your Income Tax Return (ITR), a common question arises regarding interest income: should you report the amount shown in Form 26AS or the figure on your bank certificate? If there's a discrepancy and the bank certificate shows a higher interest amount, it's generally advisable to consider the higher figure. This ensures you accurately declare all your interest income.
