Difference between advance salary and advance against salary

As per income Tax Law, Advance salary is Taxable but advance against Salary is not taxable?? What is the difference between these two? Is Advance received against salary will be repaid in installments?

Advance salary is salary paid in advance. Advance received against salary will be repaid in installments.
