26 April 2012 There is nothing like 'rent agreement'. We make either 'leave & license agreement' or consider it as 'lease agreement' based on the term of the agreement. The stamp duty is levied as a % on the average annual rent payable. Security deposit paid is also considered for calculation of stamp duty in most of the states.
