Pls tell me what is the difference between contractor & sub contractor.

Contractor is the person who take the job work direct from main client and if that contractor give that contracts some part or whole part to one or many other contractor than the person who receive the job from contracor is sub contractor.
tds rate for contracor is : 2%
tds rate for sub contracor is : 1%
tds rate for contracor is : 2%
tds rate for sub contracor is : 1%
