13 July 2011 Two Question

1st- Manufacturer transfer FG to Depot, depot sale goods after making some addition in FG in that case how we calculate assessable value for manufacturer for Depot transfer?

2nd-whether manufacturer can claim credit of Excise duty paid by depot for additions made by Depot?

13 July 2011 1) AV of goods removed from place of removal of manufacturer, shall be value of such goods removed from depot/premise at or about same time.AV shall include value additions if any made at depot/premise.

2)Manufacturer can not claim credit of Excise duty paid by depot for value additions made at depot.

14 July 2011 sir, if depot is just adding accessaries then also it will be part of assessable value of goods for manufacturer?

14 July 2011 It has already been stated, that, any value addition made at depot subsequent to removal of goods from, shall be part of AV.Hope this clarifies the issue.
