27 November 2014 Dear Sir,
Kindly clarify, An Assessee received an intimation u/s 143(1) along with demand from CPC. While going through with income tax return filed by assessee and demand raised in intimation, there was a mistake which the assessee paid self-assessment tax with out interest.
Now, the demand raised only for interest component.

Query:
1. If demand is paid, can assessee work is over, or else he has to give intimation to cpc or income tax department? or
2. once the demand is paid, whether the assessee can go for rectification u/s 154, since there was a omission of interest in self-assessment tax already paid.

27 November 2014 01. If demand is paid, the assessee does NOT have to anything else.

27 November 2014 once the demand paid, how the cpc or income tax department came to know and how to process further the demand intimation. whether any further intimation will be issued?

28 November 2014 Digitisation has made certian good things. Once the demand is paid, it goes to the concerned account with PAN entered in it.
