Deferred tax assets & defferred tax liabilities

I Want to know the cases where Deferred tax assets & deferred tax liabilities arises. I know in case of depreciation and in case of provision for gratuity deferred tax arises.Please tell me what are the other cases where deferred tax assets or liabilities arises.

05 April 2013 Section 43B deductions(deduction on payment basis)... Suppose, you make a provision for bonus in books for FY 12-13.... But pay the same on 1-Nov-13... So, even if the expense was shown in p&L account in FY12-13... But in income tax, the same would be allowed as deduction in FY 13-14(I.e. AY 14-15)... Resulting in creation of deferred tax asset in FY12-13...
And for deferred tax liabilities, you can take d example of section 35D expenses(preliminary expenses)

05 April 2013 Understand the concept, and don't look for fixed answers. Sumit is right with the examples he has given.
Other examples for DTA would be carried forward loss, MAT Credit available,
disallowances u/s 40(a)(ia), where tax is expected to be paid after date of filing of return
