Deduction u/s 80gg

21 November 2011 Person not receiving any HRA if paying house rent can claim deduction u/s 80GG..

How much one can claim..

What are the essentials for claiming the deduction and what forms(documents) are to be submitted for claiming the deduction.

Please explain in detailed manner.

21 November 2011 .
The conditions for 80GG in case of an individual not getting HRA includes that non of the family member or HUF should own a residential house at or around his place of work.

In case any house is owned at other place- it is not treated as self occupied.
.
Declaration in Form 10BA has to be kept ready in which details of Rent, Land Lord, Period etc are required to be mentioned.
.
Max Deduction @ 2000/ per month, or....
25% of Total Income.....or... Rent Paid- 10% of Total Income, whichever is less out of the three criteria, is allowable.
