03 February 2010 My client is making medical expenses for his father and mother . As per act amount eligible to claim is Rs.60000/ for the AY 2010-2011. whether he can claim Rs.60000+ Rs.60000 individually for his father and mother

03 February 2010 No. You can claim only Rs 60,000 or amount actually paid whichever is less and that too if the person for whom the expenses incurred is a Senior Citizen (Above 65yrs of age)otherwise the amount will be Rs.40,000 or actually paid whichever is less.
