one of our client is doctor and coming under tax audit, he was paid the election fees for the post of E C Member in the f y 12-13, is this charge against revenue or personal expenses

It is in the nature of Personal Expenses and has nothing to do with his profession

It will not use full for his profession or not increases his professional knowledge or capacity as well as not mandatory to continue his profession.
So such expenses is the personal nature.
